Logistics Manager, Americas – Logistics

Welcome and let me introduce myself. I am Stephanie Facemyer the Beijer Logistics Manager, Americas. I started with the company in 2005.

The Beijer Electronics Logistics team encompasses the overall flow from the point of origin to the point of consumption. The Logistics Dept is responsible for forecasting, supply planning, procurement, service/repair, order entry, shipping/receiving, inventory management, quality and inspection.

Logistics has an important role to work closely with sales to gather forecasting. Accurate forecasts and safety stocks will then allow
Procurement to order proper stocking levels so that the end user can receive product in a timely manner. Procurement orders to customer order requirements, facility requirement, and also with the Service/Repair department to insure spare parts are available.

 

Beijer Order Entry team insures that customer purchase
orders are entered to the customers specifications. This includes working
closely with the customer to insure proper part numbers, pricing, quantities, shipping methods and terms are defined and met. Confirmations regarding these specifications are to be provided to the customer within 24 hours by the Order Entry Department. Order Entry also handles all questions or concerns regarding a customer order from pull in requests to increasing orders.

 

Shipping and Receive (Warehouse Team) is an important Logistics role as all materials will flow through this department. Verifying materials received and following proper inspection criteria is essential. The
warehouse team will also cycle count and keep accuracy of inventory counts while following 5S processes. The shipping department will follow strict shipping guidelines to accurately and timely ship to customers and double verify shipments while documenting all activities performed.

 

Beijer’s Service/Repair department is skilled at diagnosing
failures whether it be software or hardware related. Determining if a unit is under warranty or out of warranty and providing detailed information to the customer regarding their repair is essential to the outstanding customer support we provide our customers within a very timely manner. We value our high quality products and the service team works closely with our Quality department to maintain records and monitor failure rates attain our high quality products.

 

Logistics is the core of the customers’ requirements from
beginning to end and we are all proud to be a part of it.  We have worked hard to build a culture to be proud of and the best part about working in the Beijer Logistics Group is that we work as a team.
